Barcelona El Prat airport

Barcelona El Prat Airport is Spain's second largest airport after Madrid Barajas International Airport. It is located 15km away from Barcelona city center close to the small city of El Prat de Llobregat. The number of passengers has exceeded 30 millions in 2006. Currently BCN El Prat is undergoing a huge expansion, with the construction of a new south terminal, between the three existing terminals , expected to enter into operation in 2008. Where are located the car rental counters
Car hire counters at Barcelona airport are located at Terminal B - Due to high demand and poor offer (Only 4 car hire companies are indeed operating at BCN) it is wise to book your rental in advance in order to get a better deal and to make sure to get a vehicule for your travel dates.

Airport ground transportation : bus, train - shuttle - taxi transfer service

Airport Shuttle service and Taxi : Taxi fare is around 25 euros to Barcelona city center and the journey takes around 25 - 30 mins depending on traffic conditions. For small groups or passengers with luggages we recommend shared or private shuttle service (click on airport transfers to book online). Transportation service to Costa Brava is also available online - Bus transfer service is also available for budget travellers : Aerobus  is an express bus service that runs regularly between the airport and the city centre. Single ticket 3.75 euros.
Train to city center : Trains from the Airport - RENFE train - will take you from Barcelona El Prat airport to city centre where you can connect to metro system at either Barcelona Sants or Catalunya stations. Single Tickets costs 2.60 euros.
